My inspiration for the ‘Full Bloom’ theme was old world romance.  Abundant fresh flowers blooming and aflame with the vibrant colours of nature.  Transparency and delicacy - vintage laces and silks.  Frida Kahlo with fresh flowers in her hair and floral embroidered folk skirts in heavy rich cottons of earthy vegetable tones with braids and stitch.  My intention was to create a garment that was a fusion of romance and folk.  To recycle and reinterpret elements into a collage of old and new, styles and cultures, by utilising the transformative and beautifying qualities of both hand and machine embroidery.
